Greater Pollok Childcare Partnership is committed to the support and development of affordable, accessible, quality care and education of children, which respects the rights, responsibilities and needs of all children, families and carers.
Greater Pollok Childcare Partnership was established in 1998 in response to the National Childcare Strategy Document “Meeting the Childcare Challenge” and is one of the ten local Childcare Forums that operate across Glasgow, supported by the Glasgow Education and Social Work Services Partnership Board.
Greater Pollok Childcare Partnership is a constituted network for parents and representatives from the voluntary, private and local authority childcare sectors, and family support agencies, who have an interest in local childcare needs for parents and families living in the local area.
Forum Aims and Objectives
The following key principles have been developed:
- To develop a wide and inclusive partnership to advance our common vision.
- To increase the provision of affordable, flexible, quality and inclusive services in the Greater Pollok Childcare Partnership area.
- To involve and consult with children, parents and carers in future childcare developments.
- To develop and shape best practice in childcare provision.
- To ensure long term sustainability of local childcare provision, and advise on local funding applications to the Glasgow Education Childcare Partnership Board.
- To integrate childcare within wider children’s services.
- To improve and maintain high quality information on the supply and demand for childcare in Greater Pollok Childcare Partnership area.
